The al pastor style chicken tacos were amazing. Unfortunately I couldn't eat all three because they were huge! The food was good and the service was on point. I liked the vibe, but I love Pilsen in general.

This was a very cute spot! Went for dinner with a couple friends while in Chicago. Service was quick for the most part and they were also very accommodating. I could tell that this place could get very busy at times because at some point you have call and request a reservation. We were able to walk right in and be seated. I chose to order their nachos. Very good. They have slight sweet taste to them because of the mango braised beef. Different but good! The cocktails are good as well. Really enjoyed Pilsen.

If you can live with the LOUD ambiance, the drinks are good (except all the ice in my $11 mule gave me but a few sips!) My wife's Negroni was top knotch! The cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and shrimp seviche were all tasty and the fish taco was first rate! Our server never hovered, but was there when we needed him. We stuck to small plates and were all full, but not stuffed. I'm old, will adjust my hearing aids' app and gladly come back for more. I will stick to the Marz Kirsch and let someone else enjoy Moscow ice cubes, however.

Jeremy as maître d'/host, Scotty as your server, and Chef as, well, your chef, and all will be great. Thank Team PY! Jeremy was superb on phone reservations & greeted us warmly. What a gracious welcoming committee of one! Scotty knew the menu, tequila, & beer selections inside and out. He was personable, knowledgeable, & friendly. Chef was magnificent grilling spot-on medium-rare burgers with a wonderfully-slightly-runny fried egg. Now multiple that by the hundreds they served in the bar tonight and one can only marvel. The food was served hot, tasted delish, & presented w care. Pro Tip: skip the Hamms beer & upgrade to Modelo or Cusquena. Although my Miller was perfect! Highly recommend PY for quality of food, ambiance, price, & service. Thanks Scotty, great evening! Thank you! Patrick S. Chicago, IL

Went here randomly one night looking for what to have for dinner. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat 2 with no wait time. The service was very quick for a Friday night and the servers were friendly! The lighting in there is interesting as it dims and brightens LOL. I didn't mind it. There was a live DJ playing house music to set a vibe. For the food, we ordered the nachos subbed beef for the sweet potato. Some of the best nachos I've ever had. The chile relleno was very yummy but the best part of it was the red pepper + goat cheese sauce. I could eat it all day! They have an interesting take on the chile relleno as it is not traditional by any means but has its own flare. This is also a great place to entertain a bigger group of people or just stop by to grab a quick cocktail at the bar! Will definitely be visiting again :)

A gem in Pilsen with hip decor and a great patio. I visited this place some time ago and the food was absolutely amazing, especially the grilled shrimp. Cocktails are absolutely amazing!

Had such a fun time at Pilsen Yards on a Saturday evening. The ambience is lively and energetic, and the DJ was incredible, playing R&b and other fun hits. I got the carne asada and it was so tasty! I definitely thought about it the next day and would recommend this dish.

4.25 Stars - TL;DR I very much enjoyed everything about Pilsen Yards. Friendly staff & overall positive vibes. The place is massive and their patio was ideal for day drinking and filling up our bellies with some modernized takes on Mexican food. Rating might go higher when I've had a chance to try more of the menu. Easy to recommend! Heard from ourfriends that they had a great time here so we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. The host was very friendly and greeted us with a great big smile, we felt welcomed. We didn't have a reservation but the place is massive so we got seated on their patio without any wait, however I can def see this place filling up during peak hours so better to book. We made it during their half priced happy hour for cocktails on tap (which was a great deal) and we ordered a few smaller plates. Cocktails: Pisco punch - Absolutely fantastic & refreshing cocktail, perfectly balanced with a very interesting and addictive flavor combo. I'm not sure if it's the chica morada that adds the warm spices (cinnamon, nutmeg...) but they play off the rum and pisco just right. Paloma - A fun and clever twist on a classic paloma with the Luxardo & Tajin rim. The stronger of the two cocktails so if you want to sip then order this one, if you wanna chug get the punch Food: Pina Colada Ceviche - A very clever way to use pina colada since you end up with something that looks like leche de Tigre but tastes totally different (still just as delicious) The tuna was fresh and very generous and the avocado was ripe and creamy. My only gripe was that it was just a bit too sweet for my liking and the jalapeño peppers weren't hot enough to cut thru that sweetness and the richness of the fat. A touch less sweet and a touch more heat and you've got a winner. My advice is to supplement it with a bit of that amazing habanero salsa they have (more on that later ;) Yard Salad - Great textures and flavors with very generous amount of chicken. Small heads up, the chicken is served cold (unexpected but didn't really bother me) but if that's something you're not a fan of it's worth noting. A great option if you're looking for something to make you feel less guilty after eating tacos made of cheese (see next item :P ) Queso al Pastor - The photo pretty much tells you everything you gotta know. Salty, savory, fatty, smokey and a bit complicated to eat (but you'll enjoy the challenge). They come with lime wedges so there's def thought put into the salt/fat/acid balance, the only addition I might advise is a bit of heat from their habanero salsa, just enough to get those tastebuds firing but not enough to kill the flavors. Dessert: Crepas de cajeta - DAMN just damn. Crepes wrapped around sticky sweet fried plantains in a caramel sauce (might've been dulce de leche) topped with whipped cream and pecans. The perfect end to the meal. Highly recommend!
